You get a message that Adobe Reader is not installed on your computer, while it actually is installed. This can be caused by:

• Your Adobe Reader version is 6 or lower. ISOXpress requires version 7 or higher. To fix this problem, uninstall your current Adobe Reader and install a higher version. You can download Adobe Reader 9 form the Adobe website (adobe.com) or, if you prefer, you can download version 8.1.2 (for Windows XP and Vista) from this link: AdbeRdr812_en_US.exe (version 9 is much larger and has many compatibility problems). You can download any past version of Adobe Reader from www.brothersoft.com - once on the site, just search for 'Adobe Reader'.
• Your Adobe Reader is not properly registered on your computer. To fix this problem, start your Adobe Reader program (without any document) and select 'Repair Adobe Reader Installation' form the 'Help' menu in the top menu bar.
• You have both Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat full version installed on your computer. Such coexisting installations mostly work satisfactorily but may cause unpredictable problems. Refer to this Adobe article for troubleshooting: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=333223

When ISOXpress gives you a message that Adobe Reader is not installed on your computer, you can get more details about the problem from the associated error (select 'Last Error' form the 'Help' menu in the top menu bar). If you need more help, please email this error to support@isoxp.com (just copy all the text form the 'Last Error' window and paste it directly into your email).

After you exit the ISOXpress application you may get the following system error: The instruction at 'xxx...' referenced memory at 'xxx...'. The memory could not be 'read'.

This is caused by Adobe Reader 9. The error is annoying, but it does not matter. At this point you are exiting the program anyway, and you don't need to read the referenced memory. It only happens with Adobe Reader 9. Versions 7 and 8 don't have this problem.

Adobe Reader 9 is known to have many such problems and compatibility issues. Yes, you can easily move the ISOXpress database and files (IsoXpressData folder) from server to laptop and back again. Detailed instructions for doing this are included in article 'Moving ISOXpress NET (network) Data Folder'.

All you need to do is to update your current installation with a patch, and move the 'IsoXpressData' folder with database and document files to a server (or another computer). You can also leave the data folder where it is and have other computers on the network connect to your computer.
